94. Oscar Ödülleri için adaylar açıklandı. En çok adaylık elde eden film Jane Campion imzalı The Power of the Dog oldu.
Bu yıl 94. kez dağıtılacak Akademi Ödülleri’ne aday gösterilen filmler açıklandı. Leslie Jordan ve Tracee Ellis’in sunduğu bir canlı yayınla duyurulan adaylar arasında öne çıkan yapım Jane Campion‘ın son filmi The Power of the Dog oldu. Toplam on iki adaylık elde eden film, en çok adaylık kazanan yapım oldu. Ayrıca The Power of the Dog‘la En İyi Yönetmen dalında ödüle aday gösterilen Campion, Oscar tarihinde bu dalda ikinci kez adaylık kazanan ilk kadın yönetmen oldu. The Power of the Dog‘u takip eden film ise on adaylıkla Denis Villeneuve imzalı Dune oldu. Belfast ve West Side Story ise yedişer adaylık elde ettiler.
94. Oscar Ödülleri‘nin pandemi şartları izin verirse fiziksel olarak, 27 Mart gecesi düzenlenmesi planlanıyor. Son üç yılın aksine bu yıl törenin bir sunucusu olacağı daha önce açıklansa da bu ismin kim olacağı henüz netlik kazanmış değil.
